About Katie from Band:

Katie from Band (Katie Delcourt) is a music artist from Biddeford, Maine. Combining elements from folk, pop, punk, and jazz she creates unique original music that is deep, fun, and full of surprises. From musical comedy to prolific emotional ballads, expect to be clapping, dancing, crying, laughing, and singing!

Katie has made appearances at Portland's One Longfellow Square and Boston's Club Passim. In 2021, she was featured on Scotland's "Buskers of Glasgow" page showcasing independent artists in the United Kingdom. Katie has appeared at various festivals, including Biddeford's Pollinator Festival and First Friday Art Walks. She has performed with internationally touring artist Eli Lev and L.A. based Jules Penham, as well as Maine artists Morgan the Fairy and "Ukelele" Joe Sweeney.

Katie has performed both nationally and internationally. At age ten, she sang at the Country Tonite Theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN and won "Most Promising Female Artist" in North American Country Music Association's International Music Competition. Most recently, she won Brooklyn's "Wildwood Recording Studio" weekly songwriting contest with her songs, "Cool, You're Happy", "Wearing Pink", and "I Like London Better". Her song “A Place on Earth” aired on WCLZ’s “Music from 207” in March 2025. On Easter of 2025, she released an independently produced music video for the song.

In school, Katie loved being in band. As a band kid, Katie felt free to be herself--creative, quirky, and--often intentionally--weird. No matter how "out there" or "different" someone was, the band room offered a place of safety and acceptance where you could be yourself and let your creativity flourish.

Being in band also meant being part of a community. In band, Katie learned that music has the power to bring people from all walks of life together.  Even if two people didn't get along, they could always clap along together to the beat of their favorite song.

"Katie from Band" was born from these experiences. It is an homage to the youthful joy of discovering music and the awesome power music has to create love, inspire hope, and change the world.
